Throw me the idol, I throw you the whip!

I’ve started to give some thoughts to what I want to do for Christmas lights this year. In the past I feel like the lights have been haphazard and haven’t looked nearly as nice as they could. I think that I might use red and white rope lights around the light pole for a “candy cane” effect (or barber pole now that I think of it), plus some C7 bulbs outlining the major structure of the front of the house. C7′s are nice sized bulbs, but aren’t nearly as large as the C9′s and don’t draw as nearly as much power. Also, I was thinking of outlining the front window with another white rope light, and throwing some net lights over the bushes. Finally I would like to put some stake lights in the yard, but if I’m going to do that I should probably get them in this weekend before the ground freezes. Last year was a disaster trying to get the stakes into the frozen ground. It’s time to start shopping for Christmas presents as well, so I have to think of what I can get my wife this year. I’m not a very good shopper and don’t come up with very good ideas for presents. Finally the photo gallery (version .01) is up and running but I ran into some funky differences between IE and Firefox. IE displays the page properly, while Firefox is bumping over the footer navigation area. I don’t want to do this, but I think I’m going to need to resort to using “spacer” images to keep the alignment correct in Firefox. Other than that though, the site seems to work fine. I’d like to add some sort of comment feature to the site as well, or perhaps a rating system so people can rate it. We’ll see though, as I have some other items I would like to work on first, and that pretty much takes a backseat right now. Well, until next time…
