Stuff I watch
Description
I haven’t taken any new photos over the last couple of days, so I was trying to find a good subject to blog about, and I decided to share some of my favorite shows.
I watch quite a bit of tv (and movies), but there are only really a few shows that I go back to again and again. My taste is pretty ecletic, and who knows, maybe someone will leave me a comment with the name of some new shows that will get me interested.
Anyway, in no particular order, here are a few of my favorite shows:
- The Ultimate Trailer Show — HDNet
That’s right, it’s a whole 1/2 hour devoted to movie trailers. It sounds like it would be corny, but it’s actually really cool. Robert Wilonsky is the host of the show, and he introduces all of the trailers. Each episode normally has a theme (80′s movies, war movies, Christmas movies, etc) and will show old classic movie trailers, as well as new and upcoming movie trailers. Robert Wilonsky is fairly funny, and does a good job of setting up each trailer before it’s shown. If you have HDNet, give it a whirl. - Mythbusters – Discovery Channel
Most people have seen Mythbusters at one time or another. I’ve pretty much been a fan since the first episodes aired. The show has undergone a lot of changes in that time, but still holds true to it’s founding idea. It combines entertainment with science, and makes the whole thing fun to watch. I’ve actually learned quite a bit from watching this show, and I think this would be an excellent show for kids. Especially when you can point to people like Jamie, Adam and Grant and say “See, this is what a career as an electrical or mechanical engineer can turn into” - Destination Truth — Syfy
I love this show. In all honesty this is probably my number one seed when it comes to tv shows. The premise is fun, send a group of people out to look for monsters and unexplained phenomena. On the surface it might sound as if this could be a boring show, but it’s not, and a large part of that is due to the host, Josh Gates. Josh is funny, and likable, and all of his jokes sounds off the cuff and right on target. He’s not afraid to try dangerous things, but at the same time he reacts like most of us would. Shouts and cursing. It’s a great show and one I HIGHLY recommend checking out. - Dexter – Showtime
Dexter is a great drama/action show on Showtime. If you haven’t seen it, your best bet is to grab the full season dvd’s and watch them in order. It’s a well written, well acted, smart and exciting show. It’s hard not to like a show that can make you feel like a serial killer is a hero. If you were to check out one show from this list, it would have to be this one. Be warned, this is a cable show, and they make full use of it. Expect plenty of cursing, nudity and violence, but all done within the normal flow of the show. It never feels like “they do because they can”. For those that don’t know, the show revolves around Dexter Morgan, a blood spatter expert with Miami metro, that just happens to be a serial killer. I’ve been hooked since episode one and the season finale last night was awesome! As a side note, the music in this show rules.
Anyway, that’s 4 of my favorite shows. I watch these all the time. If anyone wants to know some more of my favorites, drop me a comment and I’ll post them…

Here I thought I was the minority on watching The Ultimate Trailer Show. I catch it when it’s on, but I can’t say I’m an avid viewer. Dude cracks me up for some reason though, and he makes me want to watch some movies that I never would have even considered. One example would be Up in the Air.
